油画家协会主席肯•克沃雷德先生再次到访三祥轩

 

       2015年3月7日，美国油画家协会主席肯•克沃雷德先生伴随春天的脚步再次到访三祥轩书画院，这是时隔『湖畔风雅•一个美国油画家的中国梦』油画展后一个月。2015年1月17日，『湖畔风雅•一个美国油画家的中国梦』油画展在三祥轩书画院成功举办，画展的成功举办让他与三祥轩结下了不解之缘, 他见证了画展从筹备到举办的全过程。此次再次到访三祥轩书画院，肯•克沃雷德主席很高兴地谈起他对画展的体会：

 

     『湖畔风雅•一个美国油画家的中国梦』画展是我在中国举办过的一次极具中国风貌的画展，并取得了成功，我非常满意！三祥轩举办画展的模式十分特别，在画展开幕式中，为来宾们提供了油画知识学习和汉服展示活动，参加画展的朋友们既能欣赏油画作品，又能欣赏中国美丽的汉服，令人难忘。

 

       In spring’s warmer weather, Mr. Kenneth Cadwallader visits SanXiangXuan and Calligraphy Institute again. It’s been a month after the grand opening of 『HuPanFengYa • An American Painter’s Chinese Dream』exhibition on January 7th 2015. The great success of the exhibition has brought him a new experience about holding cross-cultural artistic events abroad. SanXiangXuan expressed their pleasure to be able to provide a venue for Mr. Cadwallader’s exceptional art works, and after a series of collaborative work with SanXiangXuan Mr. Kenneth Cadwallader found that he’s more attracted to SanXiangXuan now:

 

      『HuPanFengYa • An American Painter’s Chinese Dream』is an exhibition that’s full of Chinese element, and at the same time very successful. I am very satisfied and happy about the result. The effort that SanXiangXuan spent to deliver such a great function has influenced me to expect more higher quality exhibitions. It has provided another option for how my next  exhibition could be done. On the day of the opening ceremony, the entertainment section and HanFu costume showcase were delicate and full of Chinese essence, thus guests can appreciate oil painting and HanFu at the same time, making the event memorable. 

 

     肯•克沃雷德先生作为美国油画家协会的主席对于中国的文化交流模式对比在美国的交流模式有独到见解，他说：

 

     中美的画展方式和氛围确实不太一样。在美国，开幕式的时候，不会有那么多隆重的仪式，当然画家也会发言，却是比较轻松的氛围，在形式上比较像一个鸡尾酒派对，大家会喝红酒，还有吃奶酪，时而会有一些音乐表演。相比之下，我觉得中国的画展更加正式，而在三祥轩举办『湖畔风雅•一个美国油画家的中国梦』画展的开幕式带有浓郁的中国风情，正式而隆重，在画展过程中带出中国元素（汉服文化）的同时，让人感觉到热闹和相似于西方的轻松氛围。虽然那么的不同，我们却能享受到整个画展的过程。回到美国后，我会和我的美国朋友、艺术家们分享这种独特的画展模式及我所了解到的汉服文化，相信他们也会跟我一样喜欢上中国的传统文化和艺术。

 

    As the President of O.P.A (Oil Painters of America), Mr. Kenneth Cadwallader gave his opinion when comparing forms of art exhibitions in China and in the US, he says:

 

      The atmosphere is quite different. In America, there wouldn’t be a very formal and serious opening for an artistic exhibition as compared to ones we have in China. Of course the artistes will speak too but it would take the form that is closer to a party where guests would enjoy cheese, wine, and music performance. In China, the opening is grand and ceremonial. The opening of 『HuPanFengYa • An American Painter’s Chinese Dream』is in Chinese style, but through the exhibition, the atmosphere is rather western, fun and enjoyable. Guests enjoyed Chinese tea and performance done by Chinese Beauty (HanFu display). I had enjoyed the whole show from the promotion, setup, to the outcome. After I return to the US, I will share with my friends in America and the artistic field the beauty of traditional Hanfu and the special and fresh experience I had working with SanXiangXuan. I believe that they will also love China and be interested in this form of exhibition and exchange of experience.

 

    肯•克沃雷德先生对于三祥轩致力于推动中西方艺术交流的宗旨很欣赏。三祥轩书画院也期待将来能邀请美国油画家协会的画家们到访中国，再次与中国的艺术家进行交流，尽最大努力为中美两国的艺术家提供平台，计划通过“走出去”、“请进来”的办院模式，实现“创造出一个良好的艺术交流平台”的目标。对于邀请美国油画协会的画家们到访中国的意愿，肯•克沃雷德先生非常地期待，所以在因繁忙事务返回美国之前再次到访。 

 

    三祥轩很期待肯•克沃雷德先生作为美国油画家协会的主席今后能把中国的艺术和传统文化带到美国去，让更多人了解中国之美 。让我们期待中西精品艺术相互辉映的那一天。

 

      Mr. Kenneth Cadwallader highly appreciates SanXiangXuan’s objective committed to advance regional aesthetic and to aim for fine arts exchange between Chinese and civilizations worldwide. 

SanXiangXuan looks forward to invite more artists from O.P.A. and have them once again communicate with Chinese artists, and will try their best to create a pleasant platform for future events. This is a part of SanXiangXuan’s plan for implementing the goal stated as "visit out, invite in". Mr. Kenneth Cawallader, too, is looking forward to it, thus though he will soon be returning back the US for various affairs, he visits SanXiangXuan again before leaving China.

 

       SanXiangXuan looks forward to see Mr. Cadwallader, as the President of O.P.A., brings China's art and traditional culture back to the US, letting more people have a taste of the charm of  China. Let us look forward to the day of Chinese and western fine art mutual reflect.
